Aha Conversational Mandarin Course

Aha Conversational Mandarin© is designed to equip the participants with basic conversational skills and the first insights into Chinese culture. The essential tool is pinyin – the sound system of Mandarin. The program is so named as learners will feel the impact of a clearly and meticulously designed course. 

Level One - foundation (36 hours)

At the end of Aha Level One, we aim to have achieved the following abilities:

• basic courtesies
• talk about yourself and people around briefly
• talk about jobs briefly
• make appointments
• locations and directions
• simple buying situations
• place simple orders at cafes or restaurants
• ask and give opinions briefly
• understand that Chinese speakers may reason differently
• understand that pragmatic functions may differ from literal meanings

Level Two - exploration (36 hours)

Some questions are left unanswered at Level One. Level Two will answer those questions and handle  twists and turns. At the end of this level we aim to be able not only to talk about new topics using new words and structures, but also to be more confident with the earlier ones from Level One.  

Level Three - fluency (36 hours)

Level Three are intensive oral Chinese lessons. Clients achieve fluency through both guided and spontaneous communicative activities. 

At this level, we will focus on the actual use of Chinese so that our clients will achieve a basic level of fluency in most daily circumstances.

Business Elements

The teaching is highly relevant to learners’ daily life and work. The participants will find the course help them understand Chinese culture better and enable them to function at a basic level in business situations.
